The Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zaffar II was named the ruler of India in 1857 revolt.

In 1857, there began a revolt in India against the British colonialism. The movement was started by Indian soldiers serving in British army and  Indian princes actively participated in it. They named Bahadur Shah II as their leader and ruler.
