taking advantage of people to save money.

We know from the tone of this paragraph that fast food hiring practices aren't seen in a positive light by the author. He talks about how they don't hire a stable, well-trained workforce and instead "seeks out part-time, unskill workers who are willing to accept low pay." He also talks about people being easy to control. Because of this negative outlook, we can eliminate B and C as options. The passage also says that they don't use highly skilled workers so option D is also in correct.

Answer:

In this excerpt, Schlosser claims that fast food restaurants are  <u>taking advantage of people to save money.</u>

Explanation:

"Fast Food Nation" was written by Eric Schlosser to examine the influence of the fast food industry on the local and global scale. His book deals with the background history of food in the American nation, and also the influence it has had to the rest of the world, especially to the Americans.

The given excerpt from the question is when Schlosser details how fast food chains are taking advantage of its workers. With the greater demand for the easily available and also affordable food for everyone, the need for workers to cater to the services also increased. And with this increase in the employees, the employers hire "<em>part-time, unskilled workers who are willing to accept low pay</em>". This then led to the hiring of teenagers who are on the lookout for any type of job to get money, which is in itself a good deal for the company. They are less expensive, agreeing to low payments, while doing the work of a regular and even skilled workers.

But for the company, this is the best situation for why should they not hire people who can do the job of an expert at a lower price? Also, the inexperienced teenagers make the best workers for they are easy to control and made to do things, easier than controlling someone who is already familiar with the work environment. Thus, Schlosser made the claim that fast food restaurants are taking advantage of people to save money.

Alexus [3.1K]

Answer: Gender identity is your deeply-held inner feelings of whether you're female or male, both, or neither. Your gender identity isn't seen by others. Gender identity may be the same as the sex you were assigned at birth (cisgender) or not (transgender).
