Soviet Union, was a socialist federal state characterized by strongly establishing a regime of communist thought. Its origin dates back to the year 1917, during the Russian Revolution, when Tsar Nicholas II was overthrown by the Bolshevik revolution and a socialist state was established in the regions that had been of the Russian Empire. The entire political organization was controlled by the highly hierarchical Communist Party, whose main organ was the Central Committee, led by the Secretary General. The Party's mission was to implant the dictatorship of the proletariat as a previous step to the consolidation of socialism and finally of communism.
