The role of women during the colonial period was very restricted. The dominant idea was that they were inferior to men and had to obey their authority. Nothing much, besides the religious life and the household duties, were left to women. As expected, colonial girls followed their mothers duties. They learned responsibilities as housekeeping, food preservation, knitting and often help their mothers create household goods like clothing, candles, and soap that could be traded, letter B.
What made them distinctive is the rise of a new social order based around Puritans who were something like extreme Christians. These were the people who burnt people at the stake because of witchcraft and things like that. Many colonies were made to run away from them.
