If you didn't read the book, I'll give you a short summary of what you need to know from Book 12 to answer this question.

PART ONE

In The Odyssey, Book 12, <span>Circe advises Ulysses on how they can be safe from the lure of the Sirens on their journey back home. She also tells how to avoid the clashing rocks, including how they should escape the monster, Scylla, and the whirlpool known as Charybdis.

PART TWO

</span>Ulysses tries to avoid stopping on the island of Thrinacia. He does this because he fears his men will harm the cattle that belongs to the sun god. (He had been warned against visiting the island while he was in the underworld.) His men end up killing the cattle anyway. They do this in an act of impiety against the gods. This shows much greed and a high lack of self-restraint. They completely ignore their promise to Ulysses and enrage Sol, the sun god, who implores the gods to punish Ulysses and his men.<span>

</span>So, this proves that the complete sentence should be...

<em>In Book 12, </em><span><em>Ulysses is warned by</em>  </span><span>Circe </span><em>about the impending dangers of Scylla and Charybdis.</em><span><em> She tells him not to harm the cattle of the sun god,</em>  </span><span>Sol.

Which excerpt from “Raymond’s run” uses the naritive voice to make a judgement about a character’s behavior
posledela

Answer:

The answer is letter C. Or like last week when she won the spelling bee for the millionth time. “A good thing you got ‘receive’ Squeaky, ‘cause I would have got it wrong. I completely forgot about the spelling bee.” And she’ll clutch the lace on her blouse like it was some narrow escape. Oh, brother.

Explanation:

Narrative voice is the perspective from which the story is told. In "Raymond's Run", the narrator is also a character in the story. Squeaky, whose real name is Hazel, is a smart girl who tries her best in everything she does. She is critical of others, kids and adults, and quickly judges people around her to determine if they are worth her time.

Option C shows us one of the moments where Hazel judges another character in the story, Cynthia Procter. Hazel finds it annoying when Cynthia pretends to make no effort to accomplish things. Hazel does not hide from anyone the fact that she practices and studies hard. And she knows Cynthia does the same, but won't admit to it. Cynthia acts as if she just happens to know how to play the piano, or if the spelling bee contest that she won could have been a disaster if she had gotten a certain word - one that she clearly knows how to spell. From Hazel's tone we can tell how irritated she is by such fake behavior - "Oh, brother."

No one would ever know precisely how many Philadelphians died of yellow fever in 1793. Many of those who traditionally kept such
stira [4]

Answer:

<u>The yellow fever epidemic had lasting consequences for the city.</u>

Explanation:

This is the best answer because the passage is about the deadly and lasting consequences that yellow fever had: the author mentions that an approximate of five thousand people were victims of it, many died, including people like ministers, sextons, and city officials; and those who did not die, had to flee the city. Such mortality rate and mass departure must have changed completely the way people lived back then, it should have been catastrophic for the city, as the author concludes: <em>The fear had gone too deep, the losses were all too real and personal. </em>

Part b: explain your answer to part a in 3-5 sentences with at least one piece lf evidence cited from the text
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

Swift criticizes the poor/lower class since they have children that can not be taken care of, and they have to beg for food or the minimum things to be alive. The problem with these kids is that they become thieves or not useful for the nation. We can see this in the next lines: <em>"It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great town or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin doors, crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags and importuning every passenger for an alms. These mothers, instead of being able to work for their honest livelihood, are forced to employ all their time in strolling to beg sustenance for their helpless infants: who as they grow up either turn thieves for want of work, or leave their dear native country to fight for the Pretender in Spain, or sell themselves to the Barbados."</em>

The next group that he criticizes is the Catholics since they are superior in number and want to give the Irish kingdom to James III, king of England. We can see it when the author says:  <em>"it would greatly lessen the number of papists, with whom we are yearly overrun, being the principal breeders of the nation as well as our most dangerous enemies; and who stay at home on purpose with a design to deliver the kingdom to the Pretender, hoping to take their advantage by the absence of so many good protestants, who have chosen rather to leave their country than stay at home and pay tithes against their conscience to an episcopal curate."</em>

Explanation:

In A Modest Proposal, Jonathan Swift suggests what Ireland can do with poor children and the benefits that his proposal will have.

In his proposal, he criticizes the lower class since its children are an inconvenience for the country and the Catholics since they are their main enemies. He mentions both o them in different sections of his proposal.
