Outline the steps that would need to occur in order to move from a capitalist to a communist society. And what would a communist
Fittoniya [83]

According to Marx, the transition between capitalism and communism would be socialism, a social, political, and economic system in which would take place the reforms to establish communism.

Karl Marx (1818-1883), was a German politician and philosopher who developed political, economic, and social theories that influenced the following generations until today.

He is considered as the father of scientific socialism, modern communism, Marxism, and historical materialism. These theories are deeply explained in the best-known works of him are:

  • The Manifesto of the Communist Party
  • Capital

In these works, Karl Marx criticizes the capitalist socio-economic system stating that this system was controlled by the upper classes, wealthy people, and owners of the means of production for their benefit.

Faced with this criticism, he proposes that there would inevitably be internal tensions that would lead to the replacement of capitalism by a new system run by the proletariat called socialism.

Finally, he stated that socialism would be a transitional stage in which the necessary conditions would be given to be replaced by a stateless and classless society called communism.

Additionally, he argues that for these changes to take place, society had to carry out the following steps:

  • Give the State control over the means of production
  • Eliminate social classes
  • A state-controlled by the working class
  • Elimination of private property
