Answer:

B. The author doesn't state a position.

Explanation:

No matter what your clame is, if the author doesn't make a statement that reveals the point of the argumentative essay and what is going to be spoken about with a firm debatable affirmation, there's no claim to be used at all. You have to be on some side of the subject to make an argumentative essay, since you're going to try to convince people to think like you do. The argument must show what you think about the subject. That's the whole point.

Why does virgil compel dante to learn by doing and breaking off a twig?
Alik [6]
While traveling through the Second Ring, Dante and Virgil come across a place with many dark trees, but no actual people. They can hear voices screaming in pain, but they can't see them. Virgil tells Dante to break off a twig from one of the trees, after which the tree cries in pain and starts bleeding. Virgil then explains that all of these trees are souls of people who've hurt themselves during life, those who have willingly discarded their own bodies and committed suicide. Thus whenever the tree is hurt (a branch broken off), they feel pain as if they were dismembered.

Lunna [17]

Answer:

Revenge is never full, it kills the soul like poison.

Explanation:

The above sentence shows an example of an analogy, where "revenge" is compared to "poison" in relation to its effect on human life.

An analogy can be presented as a textual construction where the meaning of one element is transferred to another element, in a subjective and interpretative way, and may present a metaphor, or simile, in the process.

Analogies are widely used in poems and folklore phrases, because it makes the language more delicate, poetic and profound.
