Purpose of sensory detail:

Sensory Details are incorporated in any literary piece or an effective narration to capture the interest of the reader or the listener. The humans own five senses: sense of taste, smell, sight, touch and hearing.

If the narration gives sensory details, the proximity of the related experience to reality increases. The reader gets involved in the experience along with the narrator which make it more credible. The end result is satisfying both for the reader or listener and the narrator.

For example, a writer while describing a beautiful garden may say:

The lovely garden seemed to be masterwork of the Almighty resplendent with a variety of colourful flowers – yellow, red and black roses, geraniums, chrysanthemums, pink bougainvillea and bright orange marigolds. The overwhelming scent of flowers had saturated the air. It was refreshing and rejuvenating. The grass under the feet was as soft as cotton balls, soothing to the feet and the spirit. Humming bees were flitting and fluttering, mesmerizing with their enchanting buzzing.

Surely, a vision to behold.

Answer: Sensory details include sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. ... Without sensory details, stories would fail to come to life. When sensory details are used, your readers can personally experience whatever you're trying to describe, reminding them of their own experiences, giving your writing a universal feel.

Change the active voice sentences into passive and the passive voice sentences into active.
Ilya [14]

Answer:

1). Doctors diagnose over 20,000 patients with diabetes each year in the United States. (Passive to Active).

2). The extract from Sample A to Sample B was added (by us) to create a mixture. (Active to Passive).

3). The scribes and scholars have written Encyclopedias throughout history. (Passive to Active).

4). The results were assessed (by our team) using a Chi-square statistic. (Active to passive).

5). The embryos were stored (by us) in a cryogenic tank for two weeks. (Active to passive).

Explanation:

'Active Voice' is described as the grammatical formation in which the subject is undertaking the particular action expressed by the verb. In 'Passive Voice,' the subject receives the action instead of performing it. In the former, the emphasis is on the 'subject' while in the latter, the focus shifts to the object and the verb's action. Therefore, the subject can even be omitted in 'passive voice' as it will not affect the meaning of the sentence. The structure of active and passive voices are as follows:

Active voice - 'Subject + helping verb + main verb + object.'

Passive Voice - 'Object + helping verb + main verb + by + subject.'

Anna35 [415]
The story about the Chanticleer and the fox is as old as the tale. The Chanticleer supervised the farmyard, waking everyone when the sun rises. Even thinking that he made it rose. The fox told him he admired his singing in the morning but with the intent of bringing him into the woods to be eaten so his morning singing won't bother other animals again. Fortunately, Chanticleer escaped from the fox's grip.
