The recorded history of Texas begins with the arrival of the first Spanish conquistadors in the region of North America now known as Texas in 1519, who found the region occupied by numerous Native American tribes. The Native Americans' ancestors had been there for more than 10,000 years as evidenced by the discovery of the remains of prehistoric Leanderthal Lady. During the period of recorded history from A.D. 1519 to 1848, all or parts of Texas were claimed by five countries: France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, and the United States of America as well as the confederacy during the civil war.

Answer:

Although Mexico's war of independence pushed out Spain in 1821, Texas did not remain a Mexican possession for long. It became its own country, called the Republic of Texas, from 1836 until it agreed to join the United States in 1845. During the period of recorded history from A.D. 1519 to 1848, all or parts of Texas were claimed by five countries: France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, and the United States of America as well as the confederacy during the civil war.

Explanation:

That's all I got because it really didn't have a name it was just was in everyone's possession till it became its own country.

The author makes the claim in this section that "the consequences (of 9/11) for democracy are dire." Do you agree with this clai
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

The September 11 attack seriously damaged democracy.

Explanation:

The September 11 attack strongly damaged democracy, especially in relation to the freedom that democracy proposes. That's because these attacks generated a strong wave of government distrust. As we can see in the article, governments, as a way to protect themselves from possible terrorist threats, initiated a system of surveillance on citizens, which violated the limits of freedom. This extreme surveillance prevented the free exercise of religion, harmed immigrants and their descendants, in addition to promoting accusations and persecution of innocent people. This undermined people's trust in governments, causing them not to feel represented by those they put in power, that is, they lost faith in democracy.
