The type of poetry that Wesley uses when she creates her own structure is free verse. Since it is free, she can choose to write in whichever manner she chooses, she doesn't have to obey certain rules about writing poetry.

Contrast, Balance, Emphasis, Movement, White Space, Proportion, Hierarchy, Repetition, Rhythm, Pattern, Unity, and Variety.
