Explanation: Just to elaborate a little on the answer, it can be added that by replying to Tybalt's provocation by saying "I do but keep the peace: put up thy sword, or manage it to part these men with me," the inference that can be made about Benvolio is that he is more concerned with keeping the peace, whereas Tybalt's provocative attitude seems to indicate that he is less concerned with stopping the fight and wishes to fight.

This conflict was set up because of Iago which can describe his character as a two faced liar that (even though he is such a liar) he reveals his sward in order to help Othello in this fight.
