Venus will help us understand what happens when the greenhouse effect is really extreme but it's not a really good example of what will happen to Earth because of human activities. Mars does have some atmospheric carbon dioxide but almost no atmosphere but the atmosphere it does have is so thin that it cannot keep energy from the Sun. That’s why there are extreme temperature contrasts between day and night and sun or shade. However, most scientists say that Mars used to be warmer in and even had oceans, which means that the atmosphere was also very different. Urban flooding is specific in the fact that the cause is a lack of drainage in an urban area. As there is little open soil that can be used for water storage nearly all the precipitation needs to be transport to surface water or the sewage system. High intensity rainfall can cause flooding when the city sewage system and draining canals do not have the necessary capacity to drain away the amounts of rain that are falling. This part of Africa is characterized with warm and wet climate, with the temperatures being constant throughout the whole year and have only few degrees of change, resulting in constant summer. The landscape is covered with dense tropical vegetation, and there's enormous amount of species that live in this area.
