Sentence structure affects the tone of a written work because of the way you put words in a sentence. As human, we tend to get offensive easily. Of course, you won't be able to please everybody, but using simple sentence structure, you give off a great vibe.
Hopefully, this was useful!!!
Hello,
I too remember reading this passage along with this type of question. I believe the correct option is the first one. I can eliminate option two and three because after remembering a thesis I read when I did read this passage, the thesis didn't cover subject to empathy or sympathy. She may be sympathetic but the thesis isn't based off that.
By reading the options once again, I can eliminate option four because of the word *dismissive*. I believe the author's viewpoint on this topic was the opposite of dismissive.
In short, I remember the thesis explaining how veterans have great respect that along come with discounts and events dedicated to them. However, the support and respect from society is inadequate to the challenges they face when they arrive home.
This makes me believe she is losing hope.
Thus, I believe the correct answer is option three.
