In both wars, the governments of the world had to try to fix the what had been destroyed.
America, on the other hand, had little to no damage in ww1 but had plenty in ww2. They spent most of the time after ww1 partying and making the stock market crash. While after ww2, they tried to get communism out of the new countries.
First, the Spanish viewed
Philippines as kind of a backwater station, and so sent to that colony old and
obsolete wooden ships and gunboats. To Cuba, the Spanish station its best ships
there including the steel-clad protected cruiser San Cristobal. The U.S sent
the Asiatic Squadron, commanded by George Dewey, to subdue Spanish ships. Dewey’s
fleet simply outgunned and tore his way out of the wooden Spanish vessels. Campaign
in Cuba needed U.S Navy operations and a land campaign by U.S Army and U.S
Marines, and were successful in destroying the Spanish fleet there.
The involvement of the United States in Yom Kippur War led into an oil embargo that shocked everyone. The price of oil are shockingly high from $3 to $12 in no time. The supply were not equally given to the demand of the consumers.
