Read the excerpt from William Faulkner's Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech. I refuse to accept this. I believe that man will not mer

ely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance. According to the excerpt, Faulkner believes that humankind will live forever because we are spiritual beings able to feel for others, give to others, and survive. because we are not likely to give up in times of difficulty or inconvenience. because we are artists capable of rising above the fray of destruction. because we refuse to accept feelings such as compassion, sacrifice, and endurance.

Answer:

because we are spiritual beings able to feel for others, give to others, and survive.

Explanation:

According to the excerpt from William Faulkner's Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech, he considers that human beings will continue to exist and prove more powerful and triumph despite the hardships. The reason is that humans possess a spiritual or immaterial part -the soul- which has merciful pity and concern for the sufferings or adversities of others.

The Sun Is Also a Star Summary:

Natasha is a seventeen-year-old girl. She receives the news that her family is going to be deported from the United States since they are illegal immigrants. Her brother is the only one in their family that is a U.S. citizen. Simultaneously, Daniel, a seventeen-year-old boy is getting his hair cut before an interview with Yale, which he is pressured to go to because of his parents.

Natasha and Daniel meet and begins speaking as Natasha looks for help for her family’s situation, without managing to find it, and Daniel trying to see if God is real. They spend the rest of the day together, as they both like each other and wish to be with each other as much as possible. They are vastly different, Daniel being from an Asian family and Natasha being an illegal immigrant. Natasha likes reason and is a logical person, while Daniel is driven by passion and love. As they spend their time together, they learn about each other, their likes and dislikes, looking into each other’s perspectives.

Daniel decides to consider not doing what his parents wants him to do, while Natasha looks for something bigger in life. Natasha doesn’t manage to keep her family in the US but is thankful that she met Daniel. They lose contact as they are apart. Ten years later, Natasha is on a plane on her way back to America. She introduces herself to the flight attendant, who she met many years ago. Daniel, who is also on the plane, notices them both and they recognize each other.
