The correcte answer is: "to emphasize the threat posed by Japan"

Rossevelt asked that it be a short speech that did not exceed five hundred words and focused on the essential message to reach as many Americans as possible: that the United States had been attacked by Japan by surprise and without a previous declaration of war and that the United States was willing to defeat him no matter what it cost.

What the correct answer
dlinn [17]

Answer:

1) The rhetorical strategy is to use a simile to provide a clear image of justice.

2) The purpose of this strategy is to emphasize and express how they feel.

3) The person saying this quote did this to give the audience a clear sense of justice and how dedicated the person is to whatever justice they are trying to serve.

4) "until Justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream." As in "mighty stream" the person means a "large group of people" that contributes to making the justice happen.

Read the passage from Ivanhoe.
Setler79 [48]
One could infer that Ivanhoe takes place in the Middle Ages (500-1500 A.D) because the passage portrays a monarch, or a king ruling over a division of social classes (like nobles and knights. Historically this is called Feudalism). Happy to help!

Which is a helpful way to narrow a topic for a research paper? Skin and scan use a web diagram use note cards look for repeated
bagirrra123 [75]
I would say either a web diagram or looking for repeated ideas while researching.

If you use a web diagram, you can find multiple subsections of one main topic, and focus on one of the subsections from there.

However, if you look for repeated ideas while researching, you can find more important, focused, and developed information on that one topic to help write your research paper from there.

It all depends on your writing style. If you prefer to write more generally about a topic, I would personally go with the web diagram. If you like to write more detailed on one subject, go with looking for repeated ideas. For this specific question though, I would say looking for repeated ideas is the better option.
