The United States placed nuclear missiles in Turkey, causing Russia to place some in Cuba.

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, leaders of the U.S. and the Soviet Union were involved in a tense, 13-day military and political standoff in October 1962 over the installation of nuclear-armed Soviet missiles on Cuba, just 90 miles from U.S. shores.

Consequently, many people feared the world was on the verge of nuclear war. Nevertheless, disaster was avoided when the U.S. agreed to Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev’s who offered to remove the Cuban missiles only if the U.S. promessed not to invade Cuba.

Which of the following statements supports the claim that the gap between the rich and poor nations of the world has gotten wide
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

2. A quarter of the countries with a GDP per capita of less than $1,000 in 1960 had growth rates of less than zero from 1960 to 1995

Explanation:

A GDP per capita of less than $1,000 is extremely low, and if a quarter these poor countries with such a low GDP per capita did not see any growth from 1960 to 1995, it means that the some of the poorest countries in the world in 1960 are still among the poorest in 1995.

At the same time, many advanced nations such as Japan and the United States saw great economic growth in the same period of time.

This two events have caused greater inequality among nations.
