1) There is a debate over climate change because not everyone agrees on the topics of:

a. How important it is and how badly it will effect us.

b. What the solution should be.

2) I agree that there should be a debate as the solutions politicians propose have extreme costs, unlike anything we've ever seen before. Although the fact that the climate change is happening is provable, no one has been able to show that our actions can stop it, and how drastic those actions would have to be.

Explanation: There is debate over climate change because since its discovery, over the years it has become a political tool. There is one side saying that it is a huge deal and that emissions from everything need to be controlled and brought down majorly, and there is one side that says that it is not an issue. I personally do not think that climate change is debatable. Climate change has been happening for a few thousand years. Polar ice caps melt, and re-freeze, time and time again. It is a natural occurrence. Tides rise and fall with the phases of the moon, but no one is saying that we need to live on mountain tops to avoid floods.
