Decibels measure  intensity. If you whisper in an empty room it will measure  between 0 and 1 db. This indicates the intensity of sound is minimal. This is considered the threshold of hearing.

A sound that measures 30 decibels is a 1000 times louder than the the threshold of hearing. An example of this is the noise of a regular computer produces between 20-40 dB.

Answer:

D. Southerners cited tariffs protecting domestic industries as a major grievance against the United States government

Explanation:

The factor that most supports the idea that regional economic differences were a major cause of the civil war is "Southerners cited tariffs protecting domestic industries as a major grievance against the United States government."

The above statement shows that southerners were complaining about tariffs is favoring the northern region because it protects domestic industries. The northern region of the United States has an economy based on industries in which tariff is protecting for them, however, the Southerners don't like that situation.

How does the above description contrast with early mining operations in the American West?
Phoenix [80]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, we can say the following.

The above description contrast with early mining operations in the American West in that the formerly conditions of the old west were completely different than the "beautiful hills, waving fields of grass, prancing mule deer, a glimmering lake . . ." description by T.H. Watkins.

Indeed, it was the opposite. American settlers that decided to bet on the west and the "gold fever," found difficult conditions and economic hardships. That was not an easy time and required extra work to find the gold.

And let's have in mind that many people that went to the west were people that have been suffering from the difficult conditions in the Plains during the so-called "Dust Bowl" period in which drought and the lack of rain killed animals and affect the production of crops.

why does the house members based on state population, why are representatives based on population? I am really confused
Stels [109]
Because the more people a state has, the more power it has (in relationship to all the other states). So, since it has a big population, it needs more representatives to represent how many people there are. idk if this helps :/ sorry
