Answer:

<em>Interval notation: [0, 2.236]</em>

<em>Set Builder notation: </em>\{t\ |\ 0\le t\le 2.236\}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Equation of height of the ball dropped from a height of 10 foot, as:

h(t) = 10 - 2t^2

Where t is the time since the ball was dropped.

To find:

The domain of the function in Interval and set builder notation.

Solution:

<em>Domain of a function </em>is defined as the set of valid input values that can be given to the function for which the function is defined.

Here, input is time.

We can not have negative values for time.

Therefore, starting value for time will be <em>0 seconds</em>.

And the value of height can not be lesser than that of 0 ft.

0= 10 - 2t^2\\\Rightarrow 2t^2=10\\\Rightarrow t^2=5\\\Rightarrow t =2.236\ seconds

Maximum value for time can be 2.236 seconds.

Therefore the domain is:

<em>Interval notation: [0, 2.236]</em>

<em>Set Builder notation: </em>\{t\ |\ 0\le t\le 2.236\}

Emma's sister is nine years older than Emma. Their combined ages add up to 49.How old is Emma. write and equation and solve
Genrish500 [490]
E= Emma's age
emma's sister's age= e+9 (emma's age plus 9)

e+9=49
(isolate your variable)
e+9-9=49-9
e=40
Emma is 40 years old
To check: Emma's sister is 9 years older right? take emmas age 40 plus the nine more years and you still get the total of 49! hope that helps good luck

Find the first six terms of the sequence described by the following recursive formula: an = an – 1 + an – 2 where a3 = -5 and a4
solmaris [256]

Answer:

Now we have:  -13, 8, -5, 3, -2, 1

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a Fibonacci sequence.

though modified.

so  a_n = a_(n-1) + a_(n-2)

with a_3 = -5,

a_4 = 3

a_3 = -5 = a_2 + a_1

a_4 = 3 = a_3 + a_2 = -5 + a_2

then   a_2 = 3 + 5 = 8

then.

a_3 = -5 = a_2 + a_1 = 8 + a_1

a_1 = -5 - 8 = -13

We now have:   -13, 8, -5, 3, ....

Now we can find  a_5  and a_6

a_5 = a_4 + a_3 = 3 + -5 = -2

a_6  = a_5 + a_4 = -2 + 3 = 1

Now we have:  -13, 8, -5, 3, -2, 1

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtract corresponding components in the second matrix from those in the first matrix, that is

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}-6-(-5)&-4-5\\6-(-4)&0-(-1)\\6-6&4-(-4)\end{array}\right]

= \left[\begin{array}{ccc}-6+5&-4-5\\6+4&0+1\\6-6&4+4\end{array}\right]

= \left[\begin{array}{ccc}-1&-9\\10&1\\0&8\end{array}\right] → C
