Answer:

Company A 5.41

Company B 1.76

Company A benefits more from a 20% increase in sales.

Explanation:

The computation of the degree of operating leverage is shown below:-

Particulars            Company A           Company B

Sales                       $3,700,000          $3,800,000

Less:

Variable cost          $1,480,000             $3,040,000

                          ($3,700,000 × 40%)    ($3,800,000 × 80%)

Contribution

margin                  $2,220,000             $760,000

                      ($3,700,000 × 60%)     ($3,800,000 × 80%)

Less:

Fixed cost             $1,810,000              $330,000

Pretax income       $410,000                $430,000

After this we need to go further so that we can find out the degree of operating leverage For both company

For Company A

= Contribution margin ÷ Pretax income

= $2,220,000 ÷ $410,000

= 5.41

For company B

= Contribution margin ÷ Pretax income

= $760,000 ÷ $430,000

= 1.76

So, from the above calculation we can see that Company A is higher than Company B.

densk [106]

Answer:

Exact = $34.5

Ordinary = $35

Explanation:

Given that :

Principal, P = $1500

Interest rate = 14% = 0.14

Number of days = 60

For exact :

Exact simple interest uses 365 days :

Simple interest = principal * rate * time

Simple interest = $1500 * 0.14 * 60 / 365 = 34.520547 = $34.5

For ordinary simple interest :

Simple interest = principal * rate * time

Simple interest = $1500 * 0.14 * 60 / 360 = $35

Global Commerce Corporation purchased trading debt investments for $136,000 on December 31, 2018. There is a decrease of $3,400
stellarik [79]

Answer:

A. Unrealized Holding  Loss - Trading 3,400

Fair Value  Adjustment - Trading 3,400

Explanation:

Since this investment is classified as a trading investment, any change in its fair market value must be included in their income statement. The appropriate journal entry should be:

Dr Unrealized loss on trading security 3,400

     Cr Debt investments 3,400

This will decrease the carrying value of the debt investments in the balance sheet and the loss will be included in the 2019 income statement. The fair value adjustment account normally has a credit balance since it decreases the carrying value of the investment account.

Marginal social cost is defined as:_____.
Alika [10]

Marginal social cost is defined as the marginal private cost plus the opportunity cost.

When an extra or additional unit of a good or service this produced brings about a change in society's total cost. This change in society's total cost is called marginal social cost. This includes both the opportunity cost and the marginal private cost. So it is the total of the private cost and the external cost that the person has to pay.

Marginal private cost is the change in the total cost of the producer due to the production of an additional unit of a good or service. This cost is also known as the marginal cost of production For example if the production of a person's costs rises from$1,000 to $1,050 due to the production of this one good being produced for $50 is known as the marginal private cost.

The opportunity cost is the benefit the person would have gotten if he would have invested the money elsewhere. For example, if the person has an extra $50. He can either invest it in the business or he can invest it in the bank and get the interest. The interest money that the person has to forgo is called the opportunity cost.

Fixed cost is:________.
musickatia [10]

Answer:

d. any cost that does not change when the firm changes its output.

Explanation:

Fixed costs are the expenses that remain constant throughout a financial period. They are not dependent on the output level for the period. Fixed costs are budgeted at the beginning of the season and will not change as long as production does not go beyond the optimal level. Examples of fixed costs are depreciation, rents,  administrative salaries, and insurance.

Variable costs contrasts fixed costs. Whereas fixed costs remain constant, variable cost change depending on the level of production. Adding fixed costs to variable costs results in the total costs for a business.  The average total cost is the total cost divided by the total output.
