Why would the Sumerian gods be so similar to humans, and so volatile?
NARA [144]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

Because Sumerians at the time defined their gods or deities based on their perceptions and understanding of what gods or deities should be in relation to a particular period of time or needs. What was Grant's main strategy during his Overland Campaign, to help work toward the defeat of the Confederacy?
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

He wanted to keep the Army of Northern Virginia from invading the North again

Explanation:

The Rebel commander's grand objective was to hold the line of the Rapidan, and he failed; Grant's goal was to negate Lee's army as an effective fighting force, and in that he largely succeeded. By the end of the campaign, Grant had pinned Lee into defensive earthworks around Richmond and Petersburg.

The Union strategy to win the war did not emerge all at once. By 1863, however, the Northern military plan consisted of five major goals: Fully blockade all Southern coasts. This strategy, known as the Anaconda Plan, would eliminate the possibility of Confederate help from abroad.

The Anaconda Plan is the name applied to an outline strategy for suppressing the Confederacy at the beginning of the American Civil War. Proposed by General-in-Chief Winfield Scott, the plan emphasized a Union blockade of the Southern ports, and called for an advance down the Mississippi River to cut the South in two.

Choose all that apply.
Evgesh-ka [11]
So, to find out what IS a cause of the war we need to know M.A.I.N. That means Militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. That would mean the choices that aren't causes are totalitarianism, defense, and industrialism.

Write an essay that evaluates the reasoning of the Supreme Court majority opinion and dissent in the case of Tinker vs Des Moine
Delvig [45]
The Tinker vs. Des Moines case was one that focused on student's 1st amendment rights on school grounds. As a protest to the Vietnam War, Tinker wore a black armband with a peace sign. Mary Beth Tinker was then punished for wearing this armband. She took it took court arguing that this was protected free speech under the first amendment. After several appeals/trials, the Supreme Court voted 7-2 that this was indeed protected free speech.

The majority decision basically discussed how students do not lose their first amendment free speech privileges once on school campus. The majority judge argues that unless the speech disrupts the educational process, then it is protected by the first amendment. Failing to prove that the speech disrupted the educational process results in the speech being protected by the first amendment.

The dissenting opinion said that students should not have the right to express any opinion at any given time. The two judges also argued that this incident distracted students from their work and the ability of the school's administration to do their job well.
