Why did the author choose to provide this fictional account of Iqbal Masih, who was a real person? Select 4 options.
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

1. To interpret and share real events.

2. To bring Iqbal to life through descriptive details and dialogue.

3. To add details, such as characters’ thoughts and feeling, to the story since some of these details are not known.

4. To engage the reader by sharing his point of view about the topic.

Explanation:

Iqbal Masih is a Pakistani, born in Muridke in 1983 to a very poor Christian family. He was put to work at the tender age of four by his family to pay off their debt to a carpet weaver.

He escaped when he was ten years old and went to the police to make a report but was returned to his masters. He eventually escaped a second time and attended the Bonded Labor Liberation Front (BLLF) where he completed a four year program in only two years.

He received the Reebook Human Rights award in 1994. He was 12 years old when he was shot and killed by the carpet mafia when visiting his relatives in Pakistan.

The story of Iqbal's life was shown in a book written by Francesco D'Adamo, which was a true story but based on fictional characters. Iqbal's story was written from the viewpoint of a girl named Fatima.
