People should have pets because pets are really smart and even some pets know what's going to happen next before a human does. It may be a pain in the butt but if you want your pet to play with you and to protect you and your home I would recommend yes. And plus your mental and physical health improves because you know you have to feed the pet, you know you have to keep the pet active so that makes you smarter and it makes you feel motivated.

I think people should own pets because it makes your life happier, they protect your house (if it's a dog) and you learn to love them as a part of your family.

Which word best describes Angelou’s tone towards Mrs. Cullinan in chapter 16? *
adoni [48]

Answer:

C. Derisive

Explanation:

The question is from Maya Angelou's <em>I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. </em>In Chapter 16, Angelou, through her main character, Marguerite, describes the discrimination between how white and black girls are prepared for life. She describes,  “While white girls learned to waltz and sit gracefully with a tea cup balanced . . . we were lagging behind, learning the mid-Victorian values.” Black girls are also taught to work in the kitchen for white families.

One day, Marguerite overhears her employer, Mrs. Cullinan while she's talking to the cook. “her name’s too long. I’d never bother myself. I’d call her Mary if I was you.” Angelou describes Marguerite's anger and disgust in the words, “lunch in her mouth a second time.” Later, Marguerite is so angry that she decides to quit her job and breaks several of Mrs. Cullinan's favorite dishes.

Which feature of Anglo-Saxon culture is described in the excerpt?
nika2105 [10]
If the passage you're talking about is this:

<span>"So the Helming woman went on her rounds,
queenly and dignified, decked out in rings,
offering the goblet to all ranks,
treating the household and the assembled troop
until it was Beowulf’s turn to take it from her hand."

Then the correct answer is C. a gift-giving.

Before going into a fight, the warriors honour each other with gifts. This was a common Anglo-Saxon ritual of great significance. It meant that the people who are honouring each other are a community in which they treat each other with respect, fight side by side, and pledge to keep each other safe in the battles to come.</span>

xxMikexx [17]

The statement that best provides an inference about seismic activity along the San Andreas fault is D - <em>By studying "seismic gaps," scientists know that the next earthquake to occur along the san Andreas fault will happen in the San Francisco Bay area with the next decade.</em>

A Seismic Gap, is a segment of the fault where no earthquakes have taken place for a very long time. Due to the build up of stresses in the San Francisco Bay area, scientists have deduced that one is overdue, the last one being in 1906. Scientists have been successful in forecasting earthquakes by studying these gaps, deducing that there is a 100-150 year interval between large ones.
