Why do many oceanic volcanoes occur as long lines of volcanoes that are active at only one end? O The lithosphere moves over a s

table hotspot in the mantle. The mantle convection cell under the crust carries the magma source from one end of the line of volcanoes t O The mantle plume that feeds the volcano rotates around the Earth's core, tracing new volcanoes as it does O The spreading lithosphere pushes the underlying magma source across the ocean floor. O The active volcanoes are gradually moving away from the oceanic ndge.

Answer:

The active volcanoes are gradually moving away from the oceanic ridge.

Explanation:

  • Many oceanic volcanoes occur as long lines of the active end of volcanoes as here in the mid-oceanic ridges the plate is pushed far away from the ridge surface of the earth as these tend to move out in the direction of the movement of the plates.
  • Thus the volcanoes are generally found near the active zones or regions of the tectonic plate and associated with the earthquakes occurring on the fault line or shear lines of the plates.
  • Spreading of the ridges as a result of the seafloor spreading takes place and the mantel and plates from below are the driving forces that make the volcanoes and convection current that rises through the mantle pushes or spread the volcanoes to the sides like seen in the ring of fire.

Answer:

C. A mudslide caused by excessive rains

Explanation:

Soil erosion is the washing away or the blowing away of the top layer of the soil due to wind or water with the motion nutrient of the soil also washed away with them. This generally occurs due to excess of deforestation or cutting down of trees.

A mudslide is caused by heavy rain fall, where the gravity of the rainfall conquers the force of soaked soil.

A fact is a pragmatic truth, a statement that can, at least in theory, be checked and confirmed. Facts are often contrasted with opinions and beliefs, statements which are held to be true, but are not amenable to pragmatic confirmation. The word fact derives from the Latin Factum, and was first used in English with the same meaning: "a thing done or performed", a use that is now obsolete. The common usage of, "something that has really occurred or is the case", dates from the middle of the sixteenth century. Fact is sometimes used as synonymous with truth or reality, as distinguishable from conclusions or opinions. This use is found in such phrases Matter of fact, and "... not history, nor fact, but imagination."

Annotate around the image showing plate tectonic theory to explain how the continents drifted apart.
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

The crust broke up because of the convection currents, formed tectonic plates, and is slowly pushed on the surface until it collides with another plate and subducts.

Explanation:

This image gives us the basics of how the plate tectonics theory works. The material in the upper mantle is cooler and denser than the material in the lower mantle, so it drops down and it pushes the hotter and less dense material up. This creates a circular motion in the mantle, and this motion creates enormous pressure on the crust above it and breaks it up.

As the crust is broken up, magma is rising constantly for millions of years, so the new magma pushes the old solidified one further away. This also pushes two pieces of crust away from each other. As the crusts move away, they eventually collide with another plate, and either gradually merge with it, or a subduction zone is created. In the latter, the crust moves below another crust and into the mantle, where it gets melted and recycled.
