find an example of two countries that do not border each other yet share similar physical and linguistic traits based on the map
Svetach [21]

Answer:

Two countries that do not border each other: Norway and Iceland.

Norway and Iceland are separated by hundreds of miles of open sea, however, the two countries are very similar, both in culture, language and geography.

Both countries have fjords, both countries are cold during most of the year, and both countries speak North Germanic languages that descend from Old Norse (the language of the Vikings). This is because Iceland was first settled by people from Norway and from the British Isles.

Two countries that do border each other: Slovakia and Hungary

Slovakia is mountainous because it is crossed by the Carpathian Mountains. Hungary is flat.

In Slovakia, the dominant language: Slovak, is a Slavic language closely related to Polish and Czech.

Hungarian, the national language of Hungary, is a Finno-Ugric language that is more or less related to Finnish (but the relation is not that close).

A. Describe the flow of migration for China at the local (sub-national) level.
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

A. Describe the flow of migration for China at the local (sub-national) level.

At the sub-national level, the flow of migration is from rural areas all over the country, to urban areas, especially to the biggest cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chonquing, and the cities of the Pearl River Delta.

B. Describe the flow of migration for China at the global (international) level.

The Chinese have historically migrated to almost every region of the world, but they particularly cluster in the United States and Southeast Asia. In fact, the top 3 countries by number of Chinese immigrants are Thailand, Malasya, and the United States.

C. Explain one possible limitation in calculating population density arithmetically for a country such as China.

The arithmetic calculation would give a rough number that would not indicate anything about the regional differences in population density, and the sustainability of the population. China in particular is a good example, because the west of the country is almost empty, while the East has a extremely high population density.

D. Explain what calculating China’s agricultural density might reveal about a provinces’ wealth.

Densely populated regions in the East of China are wealthier than empty regions in the west. Agricultural density is a factor in this wealth difference, and provinces with high agricultural density like Shandong and Heinan are among the wealthiest in China.

E. Explain one social, economic, or environmental benefit of using physiological density to calculate population density in China.

An enviromental benefit would be that the government would know what regions are reaching a point of being unsustainable, and this would allow the government to take the appropriate measures.
