Can you tell me the APPROXIMATE perimeter?

Oh yikes. I haven't done geometry in forever, so bear with me.

We obviously have a rectangle and then two half-circles, so we need to find the perimeters and areas of them separately.

15 is the diameter for the larger circle (meaning the radius is 7.5), and 6 is the diameter for the smaller circle (meaning the radius is 3).

The perimeter for a circle is diameter times pi. The area of a circle is pi times radius squared. The perimeter of a rectangle is 2 times the length plus 2 times the width. The area of a rectangle is the length times the width.

If you apply these formulas with the values you're given, you can easily approximate the numbers. Don't forget, you're dealing with HALF circles, not whole ones, so be sure to divide your circle answers by 2.

Of course, if you want to be really vague (approximate how generally??), you can just eyeball it. 15 times 6 is 90, so the area of the rectangle is 90, and the larger circle looks to be about one-and-a-half times the size of the rectangle. If I were to guess just based on looking at it, I would say 180 is a nice guess. But once again, you may want to go through this more precisely.

I'm not working it out for you, but this should get you off on the right foot. Have fun (:

Step-by-step explanation:

03.05 Inequalitie

Think of an activity that you enjoy or are interested in. Some examples are reading, swimming, or leveling up your gaming character. Use your activity to work through the following problems:

Create a scenario that leads to an inequality of the form ax + b > c. You can use any of the inequality symbols (>, ≥, <, ≤) in your inequality. For this step, just write the word problem.

Write the inequality and show all work to solve the inequality.

Graph the solution to your inequality on a number line.

Explain what your solution means in the context of the problem.

Three more than the product of two and a number x
Nonamiya [84]

2x+3

You are taking two times a number, which is defined as x. That is equivalent to 2x. Then, you are adding three more to that product.

Y varies directly with the square of X.If y =5 when x=3,what is the value of y when x=9?
natta225 [31]

Answer:45

Step-by-step explanation:

y varies directly as x^2

y=k x x^2

When y=5 x=3

5=k x 3^2

5=k x 9

K=5/9

Relationship is y=5x^2/9

y=(5x9^2) ➗ 9

y=(5x81) ➗ 9

y=405 ➗ 9

y=45
