I think the process that occurred here is speciation. It is the process where new and distinct species in the course of evolution are formed which is evident in the statement given above. Chimpanzees when separated from their original habitat where forced to adapt and as a consequence new species were formed.

Which of the following statements does NOT describe a vertebrate eye?
Scrat [10]

The correct answer is: d. it contains many light-sensing columns called ommatidia

Ommatidia are units that form compound eyes of arthropods such as insects, crustaceans and millipedes (these are invertebrates) and make them very sensitive to motion. Ommatidia are composed of photoreceptor cells (visual detection) surrounded by support cells and pigment cells.

The eyes of vertebrates are more complex showing that progressive improvements in the structure of the eye occurred during the evolution.

Determine what kind of variation is related to the following trait: Pierced Ears.
uysha [10]

Answer:

D. Both Genetics and the Environment

Explanation:

Getting a pierced ear is both a genetic and environmental trait because, in males, it is not genetically transferred, rather it is a choice to manually pierce the ear maybe at birth, or much later in life. In females, however, pierced ears is a genetic trait because it is gotten naturally when they are born

These environmental factors include where a person stays, the kind of friends they keep, and people they try to imitate. Ear piercing is something that is done manually for males for various reasons.
