I have a solution here to the same problem but a slight different given:

-1 x<=-1
ax-b -1<x<1
2 x>=1

The solution is as follows:

f(x) = {-1, x ≤ -1
...... { ax - b, -1 < x < 1
...... { 2, x ≥ 1

Then we must have:
lim(x-->-1) -1 = lim(x-->-1) ax - b
==> -1 = -a - b
==> a + b = 1

And we must have:
lim(x-->1) ax - b = lim(x-->1) 2
==> a - b = 2

So we need to solve the system of equations given by:
a + b = 1
a - b = 2

After doing so, you should get that:
a = 3/2
b = -1/2

By studying the solution above, you now have the ability to answer the problem on your own!

Sam takes x minutes yo walk from home to library and 5 minutes more to walk from the library to school than fron home to the lib
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

2x+5\ minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Sam takes x minutes yo walk from home to library.

And takes 5 minutes more to walk from the library to school than from home to the library.

Express the total time taken for Sam to walk from home to school via the library in terms of x.

Solution:

Time taken by Sam to walk from home to library = x\ minutes

Time taken by Sam to walk from library to school = x+5\ minutes

Total time taken by Sam to walk from home to school via the library = Time taken to walk from home to library + Time taken to walk from library to school

Total time taken = x+x+5=2x+5

Therefore, the total time taken for Sam to walk from home to school via the library is 2x+5\ minutes

What is the arc measure of AB on circle P in degrees?
WA
286 PM
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer: 74 Degrees

Step-by-step explanation: We know that a circle is 360 degrees, so take 360 minus measure of AB, which we know is 286, so we get 74 degrees. (ONLY if ABC from a circle.)

Is this table linear or exponential what us the slope and what is the equation ?
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

this table is exponential

Step-by-step explanation:

the way we can tell this is because we can find a common ratio of 4. we know this because linear tables have a common difference exponential tables have a common ratio. i found this answer by dividing 32,768 and 8,192

32,768/8,192 = 4

you can find a linear function by subtracting point 1 and point 2.
