It depends on what the purpose of the paragraph, is my opinion. However, I recommend chronological order.
My friends and I decided to go camping this weekend; we will leave on Friday.
The semicolon separates the two complete thoughts.
The words "shaking off sleep" and "going to work" give the feeling of a marvel because of it's imagery.
