Which business model has traditionally been used by magazines
Andrej [43]
According to Quora dot com, US magazines are viewed as historically dependent on advertising revenue hence why subscriptions to magazines are historically very low as advertising is used to subsidise cover price or subscription cost.

With the general collapse of print publications in the US, particularly led by the drying up of physical newsstand presence, magazines have a harder time getting into consumer's hands. This means that advertisers are less likely to spend in a publication (readership decreasing) and then advertising revenues go down, making magazines less and less profitable.

I realize this is quit lengthy so I'd sum it up to saying the business model for magazines has traditionally been the selling of advertising space ... Not sure if this is what you're looking for

In a large city, two taxi companies own all the licenses that the city will grant to operate taxis. consumers don't care which c
liberstina [14]

Answer:

this situation can be classified as an duopoly

Explanation:

An duopoly is similar to a monopoly but instead of only supplier there are two suppliers that share total market power and control. Both companies also offer basically the same product or service. Competition exists between the companies but it is not significant, both companies decide to coexist. Customers are forced to choose between one company or the other.

In this case, there are only two taxi companies and the customers really don't care what company they use since they both offer similar services. None of the companies even bothers to offer a better service to try to gain a larger market share.

Which of the following investors would likely prefer a cash dividend over a stock dividend?
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

d. Enrique subscribes to the "bird in the hand "theory when it comes to dividends

Explanation:

Cash that is ready to use is better than having other assets that need to be converted into cash to be enjoyed later. This is the simple explanation of the "bird in the hand" theory. An investor who subscribes to this theory will highly likely prefer a cash dividend over a stock dividend.

Vert Company purchased Dextrin common stock for $150,000. At December 31, Year 2, the Fair value adjustment account had a debit
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

B. Credit to the fair value adjustment for $6000

Explanation:

December 31 (year 2)

Fair value adjustment account balance = $10,000 (Debit)

December 31 (year 3)

Fair value adjustment account balance = $154,000 - $150,000 =$4,000 (Debit)

As you can see in year 2 there were only $10,000 (debit) in fair value adjustment account but in year 3 the value dropped down to 4,000 debit which leads us to the journal entry of $6,000 Credit in fair value adjustment account balance
