Which phrase does NOT express emotion, doubt or influence?
vodomira [7]

Answer:

Es cierto que hay mucha agua.

Explanation:

<u>Translations</u>

Es cierto que hay mucha agua. -> It is true that there is a lot of water.

No es verdad que estemos tristes. -> It is not true that we are sad.

Estoy contento que haya dinero en el banco. -> I am happy that there is money in the bank.

Mi madre quiere que yo haga mi cama. -> My mother wants me to make my bed.

__________________________________________________________

Let's number the sentences.

  1. Es cierto que hay mucha agua.
  2. No es verdad que estemos tristes.
  3. Estoy contento que haya dinero en el banco.
  4. Mi madre quiere que yo haga mi cama.

In #1, there is nor emotion, influence, or doubt. It is a stated fact.

In #2, there is a doubt ("It is not true...")

In #3, there is an emotion, happiness ("I am happy that...")

In #4, there is influence, as "my mother wants;" she is influencing the narrator to make their bed.

Thus, the first sentence does not contain influence, an emotion, or doubt.

We use Relative Pronouns (Pronombres Relativos) when introducing a clause that describes a previously mentioned noun which is called the antecedent. We use this type of pronouns to connect sentences or phrases, In Spanish, there are four sets of relative pronouns: que, quien, el que, el/la/los/las que and el/la/los/las cual. There is a great variation in the use of them but there are general patterns:

a. Que: This is the most common and the preferred relative pronoun in spoken or informal contexts. This is often used when there is nothing between it and the antecedent and can be used to refer a person, place or thing and means <em>that, which, who, </em>or <em>whom.</em>

b. Quien: It is most often used when there is a preposition or a comma between it and the antecedent. It is commonly used after prepositions like para and con. Its plural form is <em>quienes.</em>

c. el/la/los/las que and el/la/los/las cual: They are less common in spoken speech, though very common in written and more formal contexts. They are used with antecedents that are persons or things and agree in number and person with the antecedent.

________________________________________________

In this way, we can use each sentence to write the following paragraph:

Naya [18.7K]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

In the following paragraph we are able to see the usage of the Simple Conditional (indicative mode).

This verbal tense is mainly used in <u>Spanish grammar</u> to express hypothetical actions or situations, as well as wishes or polite questions.

<h2>That is, it is generally used to express an intention in an attenuated form. </h2>

In addition, it is used in cases where you want to give advice and suggestions in a <u>polite way</u> or <u>soften requests</u>, to express doubt or probability in the distant past and to express a future from a past point of view.

This mode is the equivalent to the usage of would in english grammar.

Now, in this case Gustavo is asking Cristina in a polite way his wish to travel with her to Ecuador, making a list of the activities they would do (hypothetical situations) if they go there:

Hola, Cristina: Me (1) (<u>gustaría</u>/ I would like) que fuéramos juntos de vacaciones a Ecuador. Tú (2) (podrías/you could) pasear por los rápidos que tanto te gustan y también nosotros (3) (iríamos/we would go) a conocer la tarabita (rough cable car). Por las noches, (4) (saldríamos/we would go out) a contemplar la luna y las estrellas. Dicen que es un lugar muy hermoso para apreciar la naturaleza. No te preocupes por la comida, porque sé que allí los restaurantes son excelentes, así que (so) (5) (cenaríamos/we would dine) en buenísimos restaurantes. Yo te (6) (invitaría/I would invite you) a todo lo que quisieras. Pero, por favor, di que sí vas conmigo. Gustavo
