The solution is x=1 and y=-2

Further explanation:

Given equations are:

\frac{7}{2}x-\frac{1}{2}y=\frac{9}{2}\\3x-y=5

Multiplying equation no. 1 with 2 will give us:

7x-y=9       Eqn 3

From equation no 2:

3x-y=5\\-y=5-3x\\y=3x-5

Putting the value of y in eqn 3

7x-(3x-5)=9\\7x-3x+5=9\\4x=9-5\\4x=4\\\frac{4x}{4}=\frac{4}{4}\\x=1\\Putting\ x=1\ in\ equation\ 2\\3(1)-y=5\\3-y=5\\-y=5-3\\-y=2\\y=-2\\

The solution is x=1 and y=-2

Madeline was completing the square, and her work is shown below. Identify the line where she made her mistake. f(x) = 3x2 + 6x −
Archy [21]
In line two, Madlime added positive one in the bracket, but subtracted one outside of the bracket without considering the factor outside of the bracket. Therefore, line 2 should be f(x)=3(x2+2x+1-1)-7
Line 3: f(x)=3(x+1)2-7-3
Line 4: f(x)=3(x+1)2-10

what must be true of x/y÷3a/b=3a/b? Assume a does not equal 0, b does not equal 0 and y does not equal 0
Ugo [173]

Answer:

Well for starters <u>x/y</u> must equal <u>(3a/b)^2</u> because (3a/b)^2 / 3a/b = 3a/b. I don't know what you are looking for but this is all I can get out of it. Hope this helps.
