Answer:

The US was a neutral country before this attack. After the attack we would join WW11 and had the potential to change the outcome of the war. What Japan had done was an act of war and would eventually lead us to join the war. Also after this horrible strike to the US the citizens would start to come together and this would help us later to become a world power.
