What does the apartment represent to Myrtle? The Great Gatsby

So I looked it up, and I found the following: Nick describes the apartment being on the top floor, with furniture to large for it, and many sort of gossip magazines. Both Tom and Myrtle like to be in the center of attention so they are the top floor. Also no body can really handle either two because their arrogance doesn’t fit within their bodies just like the overly large furniture not fitting in the apartment.
