Germany during World War II used rocket propulsion to gain advantages over the Allied Powers. In 1940, Germans built a surface-to-surface multiple rocket launcher called the Nebelwerfer and in 1943 developed V- 2 Rocket. Nazi Germany V-2 rockets used on aircraft like Bachem Ba 349 and Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet. During the war, Germany also acquired several guided and unguided missiles that were for air-to-air, ground-to-ground, and ground-to-air.
