Buying yourself time is a drug-resisting strategy that involves D. all of the above. If you want to do this and find your inner peace, you have to find a place where you will be alone with your thoughts and where you can feel safe. This way, you will have time to reflect on your past life and decide what it is that you want to do with it in the near future, and how, and whether you want to continue living it. This can only be achieved in seclusion where there is no one to bother you.

How does this excerpt from the novel Hatchet support the theme of never giving up? Write a paragraph with a claim, evidence, and
krok68 [10]

Answer:

This memory moment shows that he never gives up. I know this because in the event it states "He had been looking for feathers, for the color of the bird, for a bird sitting there. He had to look for the outline instead, had to see the shape instead of the feathers or color, had to train his eyes to see the shape..." My evidence supports my claim because the quote that I used explained how he was focusing on the wrong detail and he had to find this detail by trying over and over again to find the birds which support the theme of brian not giving up and staying determined.

Have you ever experienced cultural shock, and how did u adapted?
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

Yes, I have. The first time that I went overseas was to Japan in the summer of 2011 for a vacation with my family and friends. When we got off the plane, it took us awhile to figure out what to do because there were many people speaking Japanese around us. It made me feel uneasy because none of them spoke English, which meant that I couldn't understand any of their conversations or directions. They also wore clothing that looked very different from anything that I had seen before, like kimonos and hakama pants. Also, they ate differently than I did. We could not find any food that resembled American fast food restaurants, but instead found more traditional Japanese foods such as sushi and teriyaki. After several days, I finally started to adjust to the new environment. As the days passed by, I realized that this country was just like America in many ways. For example, I quickly learned how to get around Tokyo without looking lost.
