Answer:

They feared Germany was trying to develop nuclear weapons.

Explanation:

Operation Overcast, also called clipboard operation, refers to the code name of the operation performed by the United States Intelligence and Military Service to extract from Germany Nazi scientists specialized in the so-called Wonderful Weapons of the Third Reich, such as rockets, weapons chemical and medical experimentation after the collapse of the Nazi regime during World War II. The program was carried out by the Intelligence Objectives Agency (Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency), an institution dependent on the US Department of State created for this purpose, which was dissolved in 1962.

A major concern of scientists who left Nazi Germany for the United States before World War II was that they feared Germany was trying to develop nuclear weapons.

Further Explanations:

The theory of Nuclear fission was developed by German scientist Otto Hahn and Fritz Stresemann in 1938 while theoretical facts were conceded by Lise Meitner and Otto Frisch. These factors were directing towards the institution of atomic bombs by Germany and blanket the researchers who fled from Nazi Germany and other fascist nations. On 21st October 1939, a meeting was held to converse the issues. Briggs on the orders of President Franklin D. Roosevelt supervised the Advisory Committee. The committee finally re-counted the consequences and pointed it to Roosevelt in November. He proposed that uranium was the base component for bombs and can result in a great and fierce destruction.

It was a well-known fact that Germany lost his pride with the defeat in the First World War and its condition later was deteriorated by the “Treaty of Versailles” that loaded the whole burden of war on Germany. The era gave rise to a new administration, Nazi Germany under the governance of Adolf Hitler. Hitler led all the footsteps to boost up the economy of the nation and upsurge the nation's pride. He wanted to develop a nuclear bomb to prove the nation’s supremacy to the world.

What was lincons background and character before politics
dezoksy [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

Abraham Lincoln was born in humble surroundings, a one-room log cabin with dirt floors in Hardin County, Kentucky. His father, Thomas Lincoln, could not read and could barely sign his name. He was a stern man whom young Abe never liked very much. Himself born to impoverished parents, Thomas Lincoln was a farmer and carpenter who moved the family from rural Kentucky to frontier Indiana when young Abe was seven years old. Thomas built a crude 360-square foot log cabin where he lived with his wife, Abe, and elder daughter, Sarah.

Why did Nativism flare up again in the U.S. after World War I?
bekas [8.4K]

Nativism is essentially the belief that the people who were born in a country should be favored rather than immigrants. This idea flared up in some of the American people after World War I because of patriotism, isolationism, and also the Red Scare.

After World War I, many people became isolationists, even some people in Congress. This meant that they did not want to become involved with foreign nations because they feared joining another war. Isolationism, along with the newfound patriotism that Americans found after the war, caused many people to not want immigrants in the country and wanted themselves to be favored.

The Red Scare also contributed to the flare-up of nativism after World War I. The First Red Scare happened after the Bolshevik Revolution and was a time where many Americans feared communism would spread to the United States and around the world. Some people even believed there were spies in the government trying to spread communism. This caused a lot of people to not want immigrants to enter the country, as they believed they were communists.
