How does cliff collapse impact on people’s lives and the environment?

Geography

It will put people with homes situated beside shorelines at risk as cliff collapse can lead to the deterioration of any land located beside the cliff in question which can rapidly progress towards civilization as the erosion effects the lower levels of minerals and other geological things such as soils or rocks & Cliff collapse affects the environment around it because that cliff may have had food essential to certain species. Also, organisms may have habitats on the collapsed area, and now it is lost due to the cliff collapsing. Things in nature have chain reactions, so if one thing is affected, other things will get affected as well (the food chain can be negatively effected)

Cities like London and Paris have become among the largest in the world, thanks in part to its _________ climate.
sweet [91]

Answer:

temperate

Explanation:

London and Paris are very large cities. Both of them are located in the western part of Europe, with Paris being the capital of France, while London is the capital of the island nation of the United Kingdom.

These cities are located in plains, with large rivers running through them, and they are close to the sea. This has resulted in both Paris and London being heavily influenced by the sea, which has made their climates relatively pleasant.

The temperatures tend to be moderate, warm in summer, but without extremes, while the winters are cold, but also without any extremes. Also, there is significant amounts of precipitation throughout the year. The people naturally chose these places for living as they have more pleasant climate, thus it provides good living conditions, so over time as more and more people flocked in, these cities became enormous.

What type of fossil evidence may exist that would lead scientists to believe that dinosaurs were ancestors of birds? Why might l
lawyer [7]

1. The fossil evidence that will relate the dinosaurs and birds could be a transitional form of organism, or body structures that share the same characteristics.

Explanation:

It is generally accepted that the birds are descendants of the dinosaurs, or rather a separate branch of animals that has evolved from the dinosaurs and has remained as their last representatives. The scientists only recently though managed to figure this out, as initially there was no proof of something to connect the two.

The proof came in the form of a fossil of an organism that had characteristics of both the dinosaurs and the birds. Clearly a transitional form, this organism stunned the scientist, as it had wings and features, with the body shape being something in between a reptilian and a bird, but still had a tail and teeth. With the finding of more and more fossils from different periods, it became clear that the birds actually evolved from small, bipedal dinosaurs which tried to avoid competition by occupying the canopies and later flying.

2. The large dinosaurs were too specialized, while the small birds were much more opportunistic when it came to food sources.

Explanation:

As we all know, the dinosaurs are extinct, with only one branch of their family managing to survive until the present, the birds. The dinosaurs were the dominant life form on the planet during their existence, which in turn made them evolve in manner that made them highly specialized, and that turned out to doom them when the impact happened.

When the impact happened, the environment got heavily disturbed and the habitats around the globe changed in matter of hours or days. This left all of the animals that were specialized in particular food source to starve to death, as there is no way they could have evolved in few days to save themselves. On the other hand, the animals that were small and highly opportunistic when it came to food sources, like the small birds and mammals, managed to survive. They were able to feed on variety of different things, smaller animals, insects, roots, plants, so they survived.

How would you react to the statement that "stress is bad for animal"
Ann [662]
I would agree. Stress usually impacts general life negatively, it's been scientifically proven. I've never witnessed something that is under stress and is benefiting because of pure stress, it makes not logical sense.
