The answer is death or exile. Something is ruining the crops in Thebes, illness is killing the livestock and women in labor are having trouble during childbirth. Therefore, the solution is to escape the land.

The solution to all the problems Thebes faces  would be to have the person held responsible for the death of the former king , either exiled or killed. This proposed solution hides another important issue in itself as Oedipus is the person who has killed King Laius. The thing is that by the time Creon, the Oracle of Delphi gives him the message, Oedipus still has not recognized he is the one to blame.

Which of the following is correct?
DaniilM [7]
Liz shouted for everyone to leave the building and "Liz shouted for everyone to leave the building."
(Can you choose two?)

Number one isn't correct, because even if someone was saying Liz shouted for everyone to leave the building, the period should be inside the quotations, not outside, so that one's incorrect either way.

The next one, it should be Liz shouted for, "everyone to leave the building." So the comma is in the wrong place for that one.

Please help. The question is on their.
Alika [10]

Answer:

Part A:

Face it: modern-day life can be about as exciting as watching grass grow.

Part B:

The two objects being compared in the paragraph are modern-day life and the process of watching grass grow. The meaning of this simile is how modern-day life can be incredibly boring and dragged out, similar to sitting and watching grass grow or paint dry. People watch Reality TV in order to rid oneself of this boredom and see how ordinary people, much like them, passes their time throughout the day.
