In "Metamorphosis," Franz Kafka's character Gregor wakes up trasformed into a bug. He has a fat, brown stomach, split by curvatures into rigid parts. The author also describes him with the word "revulsion," which means "repulsion" and "abhorrence." As a result it indicates the disgust his family feels towards him, in spite of the tolerance they know they must show.
