During this period, it was believed that, Americans sought to challenge and escape the constraints of a society that appeared more industrialized with each passing moment.

Over the period, it was believed that Americans escaped the constraints immediately at any given opportunity, through the automobile, Hollywood’s production, music, Tin Pan Alley, or the hours spent listening to radio broadcasts.

Also, it was widely accepted that, America's "culture of escape" encompasses the freedom period of the Americans, where most if not all, did or perform in activities without any form of stereotypical restrictions.
