Answer:

The cost of painting the hemispherical dome is 110880 unit

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as for a hemispherical dome :

The circumference of base = 17.6 m

The cost of painting it = 5 unit per 100 cm²

∵ circumference of base = circumference of circle = 2×\pi×radius

So ,17.6 m = 2×\pi×radius

Or, Radius = \frac{17.6\times 7}{2\times 22}

Or, Radius = \frac{123.2}{44} = 2.8 m

Or, R = 280 cm

So, Total surface area of hemispherical dome = 3×\pi×radius²

or, Total surface area of hemispherical dome = 3×\pi×280²

Or, Total surface area of hemispherical dome = \frac{3\times 22\times 280\times 280}{7}

Or, Total surface area of hemispherical dome = \frac{5174400}{7}

∴ Total surface area of hemispherical dome = 739200 cm²

Now, The cost of painting 100 cm² is 15 unit

So,   The cost of painting 739200 cm² = \frac{15\times 739200}{100}

Or, The cost of painting 739200 cm² = 110880 unit

Hence The cost of painting the hemispherical dome is 110880 unit  Answer

Calculus question?
Ann [662]
Remark
If you don't start exactly the right way, you can get into all kinds of trouble. This is just one of those cases. I think the best way to start is to divide both terms by x^(1/2)

Step One
Divide both terms in the numerator by x^(1/2)
y= 6x^(1/2) + 3x^(5/2 - 1/2)
y =6x^(1/2) + 3x^(4/2)
y = 6x^(1/2) + 3x^2   Now differentiate that. It should be much easier.

Step Two
Differentiate the y in the last step.
y' = 6(1/2) x^(- 1/2) + 3*2 x^(2 - 1)
y' = 3x^(-1/2) + 6x  I wonder if there's anything else you can do to this. If there is, I don't see it.

I suppose this is possible.
y' = 3/x^(1/2) + 6x

y' = \frac{3 + 6x^{3/2}}{x^{1/2}}

Frankly I like the first answer better, but you have a choice of both.

On a scale drawing,1 in represents 8 feet. What is the actual length of a room that measures 3.4 inches
Xelga [282]

Answer:

27.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Since 1 in on the drawing = 8 ft, we should find out how much ft is 3.4 in.

So, to get from 1 to 8, we multiply by 8.

And since we multiply by 8, we also have to do it to the other part as well.

So we would do:

8 x 3.4 = 27.2

Hope this helps! :)
