Why did florence enjoy a flourishing of the arts in the 1400s?
Drupady [299]
Florence enjoyed a flourishing of the arts in the 1400s. Many artists moved to Florence because there was a market for the purchase of their artwork. The upper and middle class of merchants and bankers were very wealthy and they wanted to enjoy the pleasures of life on earth, not just focus on the afterlife. This created a gap in the market for quality artworks and music concerts etc. Artists, musicians and poets moved to Florence to fill this gap in the market.
