Charlemagne’s rule affects Europe as he was the one who initiated the era of modern Europe and promoted education and the Carolingian Renaissance.

Further Explanations:

Charlemagne was the king of Franks and Lombard during the 760s and the emperor of Rome during the 800s. He was the first renowned ruler to rule Europe after the collapse of Rome. Being the eldest son of “Pepin the Short” and “Bertrada of Laon” born on 2nd April 748 before his parent’s official marriage, he became the successor to his father’s throne. He led to the establishment of the Carolingian Empire which was later glorified by Antipope Paschal III.

Charlemagne is also credited for the initiation of the Carolingian Renaissance that was the reason for the modernization of Europe. The renaissance was among the first three renaissance of cultural activity of the Carolingian Empire as an inspiration from the Christian Roman Empire. The era was marked by the advancement of art, literature, liturgical and scriptural studies. The effect of renaissance on the Roman’s culture was very minimal.
