Answer:

Membership in the Deaf Community can offer many benefits. These may include: Improved self-esteem. Sense of pride in one's history. ASL is used to communicate just like any other language. It is very hard to teach ASL to a child so most babies born deaf can not understand anything until old enough to learn.

In 2020 we use hand gestures such as gang signs, peace signs, the middle finger, etc that have specific meaning to my culture and others aswell.

ASL has no resemblance to spoken English. It's not a translation of English, or an awkward representation of it, or a form of pantomime. ASL's structure is actually more similar to spoken Japanese and Navajo than it is to English.
