Answer:

According to Mercutio, Benvolio was a short-tempered man who instigates a fight.

Explanation:

Mercutio and Benvolio were the best friends of Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare.

In Act 3, Scene 1, Mercutio accused Benvolio of being a short-tempered person. He said that if two people like Benvolio would get into fight, none of them would survive as they both would each other.

This accusation of Mercutio is ironical as Benvolio is characterized as a peace-maker since the beginning of the play and it is him who would get easily instigated with small things. Even in this scene, it was Mercutio who was instigated by the comments of Tybalt which kindled the fight between Capulets and Montagues.

What is the tone in Macbeth by Shakespeare?
Xelga [282]

Answer:

“Macbeth” is a tragedy, so its tone is predominantly dark, elegiac and depressing. “Blood will have blood”, as Shakespeare wrote in Act III, Scene IV of the play, foreshadows the series of murders taking place, which, as a result, stir bleak and sinister feelings among the readers
