Read the passage. The Dust Bowl During the 1930s, extreme drought and high winds made life incredibly difficult in the Great Pla

ins region of the United States. In many areas, rainfall was forty percent less than normal. The soil became extremely dry, and when strong winds blew, they created tremendous dust storms. These so-called “black blizzards” were so thick that they made daylight seem like dusk. During this terrible period, the Great Plains region of the United States was named the “Dust Bowl.” Over the next few years, the drought continued, and the winds created more dust storms. In some places, the drought and high winds lasted for eight years. Many people wondered if the black blizzards would ever end.

RideAnS [48]

This question is missing the excerpt and the options. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Gilgamesh said, "Courage, dear brother, this is no time to give in to fear. We have come so far, across so many mountains, and our journey is about to reach its goal. You were raised in the wild, with your own hands you have killed marauding lions and wolves, you are brave, your heart has been tested in combat. Though your arms feel weak now and your legs tremble, you are a warrior, you know what to do. Shout out your battle-cry, let your voice pound like a kettle drum. Let your heart inspire you to be joyous in battle, to forget about death. If we help each other and fight side by side, we will make a lasting name for ourselves, we will stamp our fame on men’s minds forever.”

Which evidence from the excerpt best illustrates the point that Gilgamesh is a leader who believes in teamwork?

A. Gilgamesh said, “Courage, dear brother, / this is no time to give in to fear. / We have come so far, across so many mountains”

B. You were raised in the wild, with your own hands / you have killed marauding lions and wolves, / you are brave, your heart has been tested in combat.

C. Though your arms feel weak now and your legs tremble, / you are a warrior, you know what to do.

D. If we help each other and fight side by side, / we will make a lasting name for ourselves, / we will stamp our fame on men’s minds forever.

Answer:

The evidence that illustrates how Gilgamesh believes in teamwork is:

D. If we help each other and fight side by side, / we will make a lasting name for ourselves, / we will stamp our fame on men’s minds forever.

Explanation:

Gilgamesh was a Sumerian king and hero in ancient Mesopotamia. He was deified after his death, and his feats, be them real or not, were immortalized in an epic poem, the "Epic of Gilgamesh".

The excerpt we are analyzing here shows evidence that Gilgamesh is a leader who believes in teamwork. That is found in letter D. If we help each other and fight side by side, / we will make a lasting name for ourselves, / we will stamp our fame on men’s minds forever. When he urges his interlocutor to fight "side by side," what he means is that they should work together. By doing so, they will succeed, and their names will go down in history for their heroic deeds.
