Let no red ribbons=x
no. Of blue ribbons=x+3
No. Of yellow ribb9ns=x+7
Totsl ribbons=28
28=x+x+3+x+7
28=3x+10
3x=28-10
3x=18
X=18/3
X=6

No .of red ribbons=6
No. Of blue ribbons=x+3=9
No. Of yellow ribbons=x+7=13

f(x)=2x. If g(x) is a vertical stretch, compression, and or reflection of f(x) followed by a, what is the equation of g(x)?
Montano1993 [528]

The function g(x) is g(x)= (3x)^2

<h3>How to solve for g(x)?</h3>

The complete question is in the image

From the graph in the image, we have:

f(x) = x^2

The function f(x) is stretched by a factor of 3 to form g(x).

This means that:

g(x) = f(3x)

So, we have:

g(x)= (3x)^2

Hence, the function g(x) is g(x)= (3x)^2

Find the mean and the median of this data set: 8, 6, 6, 3, 72, 7, 4, 2
icang [17]

Answer:

median: 6  ;  mean: 13.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The median is where you line up the numbers from least to greatest and add the 2 that are left since it was an even number and you get 6. The mean is where you add all 8 numbers and divide by 8, since that is how many numbers there are.

Earl runs 30 meters in 20 seconds. How many meters does Earl run per second?
Kipish [7]
- - He runs 1.5 meters each second.

- Solve:
Divide 30/20
<span>=1.5
</span>To answer this we will divide the amount of meters by the amount of seconds. Then your answer will be the amount of meters Earl runs per second. Then we will check our work. Lets do it:-

30 ÷ 20 = 1.5
1.5 meter per second.

CHECK OUR WOK:-

1.5 × 20 = 30
<span>We were </span><span>RIGHT!!

</span><span>So, </span><span>1.5 meters per sec.</span>

The length of a rectangle is the square root of 100 times an unknown number, x. The width is one-half an unknown number, y, less
ELEN [110]
For this problem,all we have to do is translate the word problem into algebraic equations. The equations are as follows:

L = √100 * x = 10x
W = 1/2*y - 3/2*x

Since A is equal to length times width
A = LW
If L is given, we can find the x. Therefore, we must set the equation where the dependent variable is y and the independent variable is x.

125 = LW
W = 125/L
1/2*y - 3/2*x = 125/10x
10x(1/2*y - 3/2*x) = 125
5xy - 15x² = 125
xy - 3x² = 25
y = (25+3x²)/x
<em>y = 25/x + 3x</em>

A house has 3 rectangular countertops. Each countertop is 4 and 3/8 by 2 and 2/5 feet. How many square feet of tile is needed to
Allisa [31]

Answer:

31\frac{1}{2}ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

From the information given each of the three rectangular countertops has dimension 4\frac{3}{8} by  2\frac{2}{5} feet.

The area of a rectangular shapes is the product of the dimensions.

Each rectangular countertop has area;

4\frac{3}{8}\times 2\frac{2}{5}=\frac{35}{8}\times \frac{12}{5} =10\frac{1}{2}ft^2

Therefore the number of square feet tiles needed to cover all the countertops is D.
