Answer:

1. They exemplify the everyday homeless, the needy those who we see on a day to day basis.

2. I actually think the thesis was not found in the main pargagraphs but formed in latter paragraphs, such as the last "could it be that the homeless, like tgise anncients, are reminding us of our common humanity"? (Ascher/ on Compassion 189). This is the main theory of the essay and the purpose of the essay is  the reasons for compassion and she kind of questions her own theory of why people are compassionate towards others. It is really to help and care, our to satisfy there own selfish ways.

Language

1.Empathy is being able to place yourself in someone elses shoes and relate to there circumstances, while compassion is a feeling within that does tend to lead from empathy in itself.

Discussion

1. Her legal training helpe her by making her writings short, because she wa trained to tell the facts and theories. To me this helps the reader actually believe the story, because there are facts to back on those theories, making the story more believable.

valkas [14]

Answer:Accumulation is derived from a Latin word which means "pile up." It is a stylistic device that is defined as a list of words which embody similar abstract or physical qualities or meanings, with the intention to emphasize the common qualities that words hold. It is also an act of accumulating the scattered points. Accumulation examples are found in literary pieces and in daily conversations.

I believe that the answer would be the first choice (to stress that getting caught driving drunk can cost a person their job) because one does not want to be embarrassed or ridiculed by being seen driving drunk.
